An essential component of XULY.Bët is music, which has largely influenced the designer since the beginning. This accounts for the quirky subtitling label of Funkin’Fashion for his collection. Mad about music, himself the singer and guitarist have formed the group “this is not a machine gun”, creating a coloured, fluid fashion which has caught the eyes of professional dancers and successful artists, all aspiring to wear XULY.Bët on stage and as part of their chosen day wear.

Fashion shows are also events where music takes the main stage. For example the live Senegalese group “Super Diamono” played at the fashion show ‘World of Art’ in 1996, and totally changing the style for the spring-summer fashion show in 1998 at the Louvre with the soundtrack, “Radio Bamako”.
